LWVTC has organized an opportunity to get outside, meet and socialize other members and walk around Capitol Lake. We‘re meeting informally to get acquainted, see some friendly faces, and take in the beauty of Capitol Lake in the Springtime. You don‘t have to walk fast and there are plenty of benches for taking a break. If you want a walk challenge, we can trek up the switchback and circle the Capitol Campus to see blooming trees and gorgeous views. Be prepared for the Northwest Spring weather, with bouts of wind, sun and rain.

Action steps to: 1. Increase diversity in LWVTC membership by meaningful engagement with people in community-based organizations and underrepresented populations. 2. Recruit and develop leadership with individuals active in community organizations and underrepresented populations. Increase shared decision-making among current and new membership and underrepresented populations. 3. Use the LWVTC capacity as a community convener to highlight DEI work done in the community such as in schools and government. 4. Amplify diversity, equity and inclusion efforts made by national and state Leagues in other parts of the state and country. 5. Expand community outreach as LWVTC shows up for organizations that focus on issues important to historically underrepresented communities. 6. Provide opportunities for all members, to enhance their understanding of the nature and impact of racial and social injustice.
